Darwin Suite (red room)
My initial feeling of this room is that is had a heavy feel to it, added to the sick, dizzy and disorientated feelings.
Top Floor
On walking up the stairs to the top floor, I sense a lady in finery, dress garments almost taffeta/silk like with the swish that style of dress would have created, maybe 20-30 ish in age. No names.
Walking past Room 47 I had the distinct uneasy feel. Otherwise the top floor didn’t seem too bad.
Cellars
These seemed to go on forever with lots of side pieces to it.
We went into the very end room, which was large enough to stand upright in. I picked up on a male, very tall, very thin, dark clothing, wearing a tall hat. If I had to guess at a time period, I would probably say Victorian – but this would be a guess.
Meeting Room (room on arrival)
I sensed the name of John in here, but nothing else.
Vigil 1 – Cellars
23:50-01:30 a.m.

No EMF readings
I picked up on the male figure again when returning to the same room visited on the walk round. The sense of this character gave the impression that I was reaching around the 6ft in height mark. Other group members comment that I look very tall, almost like my head was touching the ceiling.
I did not feel that this character was nasty, menacing but more the feeling of we were in his space and he didn’t want us in it.
I feel this man was very thin and again of Victorian era.
The group asked out for signs etc.
The DPH lady with us asked if anyone was standing right next to me, to my left, nearly touching my arm. There was another gentleman near to me, but he was a good arms length away as we demonstrated. Other than that, there was no-one between the 2 of us. The DPH lady said the person she sensed was around chin height to me but was definitely between us. I later sensed something around my neck, just enough to make the feeling aware but not too much that it had any drastic effects. I also feel like I am swaying which the DPH lady picked up on too.
The DPH lady then went onto say that my face had altered, which others also witnessed. She saw a dark shadow go across my face and when it had gone I appeared to look very white, gaunt which she likened to when you shine a torch under your chin to create a scary face scenario – (I should mention here that this was not taking place, it is just an analogy). She said it looked like I was wearing some type of hood/shroud, my face was very long and thin, very very pale. She went onto say that it appeared I was walking toward her (which I wasn’t as I remained in the same spot I had been in thus far during the evening) and I was looking right at her. My own feelings were that I was scowling for some reason, which she also sensed. She went onto say that I had a very serious face, that it felt I was literally in front of her, but in reality I was some distance away.
Others were sensing something in another part of the cellar – when you come out of the part we were in and enter into the larger area. Someone felt there was someone standing behind the people in the “door” area looking in at what we were doing – no “living” person was there other than our group. When asking out for the EMF lights to move I felt a very strong and definite “no”.
I sensed an alcohol smell – but not as in drink, this was more along e.g. methylated spirit type of alcohol smell.
Nothing happened with the glass divination. However, I did feel the urge to want to push it right off the table towards the DPH lady, almost a defiant feeling (which I did not pursue!)
Listing to the Dictaphone recordings, there is something which sounds like “get out” in what appeared to be a heavy male voice – but as with possible EVP recordings it can be difficult to determine what has made the sound. Nothing in the room at the time made anything to compare it with.
Maria comes down to the cellar with us. The EMF in placed on the floor. Temperature readings are 8°C. When she asks out the cellar area appears to go extremely dark. The EMF fluctuates from 1 to 2 green lights. After a short while the cellar appears to lighten again, then reverts back to very very dark. It is at this time of the evening that I sensed a small female – child. Maria confirms that children have been identified in this area too. She says there is a little boy and girl. Another person in the group is seeing a small male (adult), wearing a white shirt with his jacket open.
A sigh is heard in the large area of the cellar by some, but I do not personally witness this myself.
Maria then goes into trance mediumship and picks up on a male telling us to “get out”.
Temperature readings are 7-8°C and 12.2-3°C in the corner of the room where I had taken the base reading when first coming in here for the vigil.
The EMF is flickering quite a bit, mainly green, but also the occasional orange-red.
Adey is now down in the cellars with us and has picked up on a male. This male doesn’t like the pub music, wants people to be respectful, the name of Thomas Bishop is identified. Also the name of Mary (his wife), who sometimes comes here. This character also asks why doesn’t the big man talk, he sits in Court, people don’t talk to me. Adey then picks up on another male – Eddy who is illiterate. He apparently fell down a hole, broke his neck, is 42 years of age, is married and says there is a nasty man here. He worked for the brewery as a dray man and wears a cap and scarf. Adey also picks up on children – Thomas and Elizabeth.
Other parts of the cellar – table tilting room. Base readings are 12.6°C. Nothing much happening in here. We do hear a long of banging, but put this down to possible noises from above us. Occasional EMF fluctuations.
Vigil 2 – Darwin Suite
02:03-03:15 a.m.
Nothing really happening in here – flat.
Temperate on entering the room to the left hand corner as you walk in is 15.8-16°C, looking straight ahead to the window area, base readings are 15.4° to the left and 15.6° to the right. We have 2 EMF meters, one at each end of the table, they appear to mirror each other in terms of readings, which fluctuate between 1 and 2 green lights, nothing else. I notice a bang/thud type of sound from the fireplace area.
Temperature readings in the same areas mentioned above are 15.5°C and then 14.4°C for both window areas. People are mentioning a temperature change, but also what should be borne in mind here is the fact that it is the early hours of the morning…
Vigil 3 – Top Floor
04:00-05:25 a.m.
Room 38
No drafts or broken windows in here. I have a heavy chest feeling, almost like a weight being applied in that area. It is a very disorientating room, but I personally put this down to the uneven flooring in here.

Outside Room 44
Glass divination – quite a lot of movement on the glass. Asking out usual type of questions. The “spirit” on the glass appears to be related to the building, female, Elizabeth, 3 other spirits with us, all children, 3 girls. Asking if they know anyone around the table the glass moves to indicate the gentleman to the left side of me, who I then got to ask some questions. I am also sensing the name of James.
Top Floor
Apparently 2 boys had died up in this area, one called James and one called Thomas. One died in the bath and the other had his throat slit!
First Floor (blocked off corridor area)
We were unable to access this area due to it being blocked off. Our group all witnessed noises from the far end. Unfortunately, it is hard to determine what could have caused this, due to us being unable to access the same to rule anything out etc.
