Report of the nights events
Butler/Cook’s Room (Room 14)
I sensed a male energy in this room, nothing menacing, just a presence in the area when you first walk into this room immediately to the right.
Nicole was picking up on an elderly gentleman and the sensing of coughing and a chest infection - the coughing up of blood. She felt as if he had worked here but was not connected to the castle, she thought he could possibly have been a gardener. She also sensed that he was really happy here. Nicole also felt the 25th July was important to this gentleman.
Nicole then proceeded to open up a circle. I heard a feint breathy sound behind me and asked if anyone had made a similar sound. Someone had, but they were at the other end of the room – so perhaps this particular sound could have been down to the acoustics in the room???
A few people witnessed a light near the window area, one described it as being bird sized, another described it as a green light. There was nothing in the room in terms of lights to compare it to, whether there had been anything outside remains to be seen. From memory, I don’t think you can actually see an awful lot from that window area. There was a bat in the room, so perhaps this is what the other member in the group referring to “bird sized” had seen… will leave that one open for your own decision! I personally didn’t see anything other than the bat flitting around.
A few people in the group were witnessing a temperature drop, which was recording in at 12.5/6 degrees.
Nicole then sensed an energy building up. The room appeared to be changing, by this I mean it was becoming very dark in comparison to how it had been on first entering the room. The temperature was now recording in at 13.4/5 - so had actually gone up slightly, but perhaps this could be put down to the amount of people in this room, which was not a large room – more of a box room. Nicole intimated that the energy had built up, but nothing was materialising. At this point the group decided to move into the adjacent room.
Bedroom 15 (the Room adjacent the Butler/Cook’s Room)
The temperature in here recorded between 11.8-12.6 degrees. Glass divination was undertaken in this room by most of the group that could get around the table. Personal messages were coming through, nothing related to/with the castle or it’s possible inhabitants… Nothing else sensed in this particular room at this time.
Room 25
The temperature in this room recorded in at 14.8 degrees.
Nicole was picking up on an energy that she likened to the image of Hagrid from Harry Potter. One member of the group became extremely hot to the point of being “wet through”, she had previously been ok. Two other members had experienced temperature fluctuations to the far side of this room. The energy Nicole picked up on was standing to her left. There was no reaction on the EMF meter. Our group returned to this room later in the evening.
...later that evening...
On returning to this room it was the group's decision to split into 2, to see whether this would have any different effect. At this point, guest investigator Mark Webb was there with the audience winner.
The temperature reading was 14.5-15.3 degrees.
We decided to open up a circle to see whether anything could be picked up on. This room, like the others, had begun to get darker, which seemed to be the theme throughout various vigils during the night in different areas.
If the moon was out it was not visible to us in the rooms we had been in thus far – therefore ruling out that possibility!
A cold breeze was experienced by some members of the group in this room. Apart from this, nothing else was picked up on.
Orchid Area
This area was very cold, with a temperature reading between 14.4-16.4 degrees.
Nicole picked up on 3 energies in this area. She felt there were 2 males and one female presence and that one of the men had been struck on the back of his head with something. She believes that the victim has been seen walking around in this area of the castle.
Nicole said she could see the man that had killed the other man and him dragging the victim out of this area and down the steps (the ones going down to the separate rooms, for example room 24). She felt that the scene she was seeing was that of the killer attempting to hide the victim’s body.
Room 24 – White Bedroom
Continuing on from the Orchid, Nicole got a really strong feeling that it was something to do with the female and these 2 men. She was not quite sure if it was the lady’s husband who killed the lady’s lover or vice versa, but it was something to do with this female. She left him dying, but there was something that she didn’t want to come out into the open. She didn’t take part in the murder, but she tried to cover it up, that’s what she did and as a result of the actions, she left him to die.
Nicole continued to say that the female, for some strange reason, came in and took one of the shoes off the man while he was dying, but Nicole was unable to establish why. When the lady came into the room, he tried to sit up but he couldn’t quite do it and he held his hand out towards her, part of her wanted to help him, but another part of her wanted to go to the other man and so she just left him to die.
Both men have been seen from where we had just come from – the orchid area. Nicole thought also that sometimes when people have come up to this area they have been able to hear a dragging sound and it has actually been the other man dragging this body across the floor. When he was dragging him he was trying to cry and he was also attempting to get the woman to come and help him but she didn’t.
The room appeared to be going very dark – like it had been in other rooms during the night! Some people were feeling cold in this room.
Panelled Room
The temperature in there registered between 12-14 degrees. Unfortunately nothing was picked up in here on this occasion. It was also quite light in this room compared to other rooms throughout the night.
