This was an experiment to enter the Guinness Book of Records for numbers of people attending the event, which has apparently been broken this very night.   The previous record had been set at 240 by Professor Richard Wiseman, this event set the record at 840 (with research being conducted for this aspect by Dr. Rebecca Knibb of Derby University).

The experiment was conducted using equipment provided by Supermeters, namely their Paranormal PC system (neat piece of equipment I have to say!), in order to record air temperature, ionisation, humidity, light and sound levels, magnet and electric fields in every room.   This system has also, apparently, provided statistics for the whole evening and the same are being crossed referenced with experiences of those attending this experiment.

To be honest, this was more of a walk around than being able to do any kind of vigil.   Partly due to the amount of people and partly due to the organisers/organisation...
After queuing for over an hour to participate in the experiment based within The Hex, each group were subjected to 5 minutes in 3 rooms, handed a form to see if we heard/felt/saw/experienced anything etc.   I personally did not feel there was much to accomplish in this respect due to limited time allowed in each room and I can honestly say nothing particular was sensed at this stage with regard to this objective.

However, it will be an interesting place to revisit to do a full overnight investigation next year and am looking forward to returning to this venue - quite an impressive place to conduct a vigil at.
