The Manor House, West Bromwich
26th February 2006
02:00 a.m. - 06:15 a.m.
Waning Crescent 7% of Full for 25th February and Waning Crescent 3% of Full for 26th February.   Weather Conditions:   Wet and very windy.
This vigil was organised by Nottingham Paranormal Investigators (NPI) and the owner of the Manor House.
Main hall (with chandelier old fashioned light fitting)
At 2 a.m. the whole group gathered here prior to splitting off to conduct our investigations.   The occasional "orb" was picked up on cameras by most people.

With your back to the bar and the knight in armour in the hall we went to the far end of the room into another bar area and turned left.   We then went into the room at the very end, which I will call the snug for the purpose of this report.
"orb"
Snug
Our group consisted of Lisa, Lucy and myself.   Lisa began asking if anyone was in the room with us.   Room temperature at this stage was 17.5-18 degrees.   Lisa was experiencing a draft across the top of her legs.   I was also experiencing a similar feeling across the top of my legs downwards.   The temperature readings have not altered.

In the open doorway to the room the temperature reading is 20.5 degrees.   Lisa’s camcorder turns itself off on its own when she is recording her leg area, where she is experiencing the draft.   The temperature reading in the room now registers 23 degrees, but feels a lot colder.   Lisa feels a drop in temperature again and on checking, this has dropped to 17.5 degrees.   It continues fluctuating between 16.5-17 degrees.   Lisa begins experiencing coldness on top of her legs again and describes it as “going over her legs not even in a straight line, as if it has just come in”.   Temperature readings now fluctuate between 18-20 degrees.   I ask that if anything is in the room with us, to make it go really cold.   The temperature registers 15 and then 14.5 degrees.   I then ask for it to go colder.   This results in the temperature dropping further to 13.5 degrees.

Lisa asked for a sound to be made - nothing happens.   The room temperature has risen to 18.5-19 degrees.   The temperature in the open doorway is registering at 20 degrees, so this has not really changed.   I would like to mention here that the doorway I refer to does not have an actual door, it is just an opening into the previous room/bar area.   When walking into the snug through this opening there is a door immediately to the left leading into another area.

Window readings taken randomly were understandably colder, which make sense.   Weather conditions outside are cold, wet and windy.

The temperature inside of the snug room keeps fluctuating.   I cannot see any logical reason for this to happen.   The fireplace did not have a draft coming down it, so I am unsure whether this is just an ornamental fireplace i.e. blocked in.
Lisa’s camcorder turns off for a second time.   Lucy does not have her camcorder on to record the incident at that precise moment, but all 3 of us witness it.   I ask Lisa what her battery level/power reading is like.   She replies that the battery should show how much longer she has, but that information is not showing.   When it does come back on, it registers an additional 3 minutes in time.   (I do not know if this is a standard occurrence for camcorders, so am not noting it as paranormal).   Noticing coldness around our knees again, I note the temperature is 19.5-20 degrees.   Lucy is standing in the open doorway and notices a draft there this time.   The temperature reading in the doorway is 22 degrees, which is higher than the temperature originally recorded.   Lucy reports that although the room we had to walk through to get into the snug is warm, the back of her neck feels quite cold.   After a short time, I notice the area around my legs has dipped again.   I would describe the feeling this time as a “swirling about type of movement”.   None of us are mobile.   This only happened briefly and the air in the room then appeared warmer again.

A few orbs were picked up by Lisa and Lucy on their camcorders.   We were discussing a little girl called Emily, apparently known to this venue.   Not long after this discussion, possible coincidence, we experienced another strong and quick blast of cold air.   Nothing happened for some time after this but I did experience a cold feeling around the kneecap area again.

We noticed blue flashing lights outside the venue during this vigil and noted a high emergency services presence outside the vigil venue, which we later found out to be a major incident.
The Solar
Going back to the main hall as before.   This time we went in the same direction as for the snug, but instead of going into the bar in that area, we veered off to the right of the main hall and up some stairs.   This consisted of 3 separate room areas.   The first being a dining room, quite long, the second room was reached climbing a few steps and the furthest room was off this latter room.   This latter room being icy cold in comparison to the other 2 rooms varying between 9 and 12.5 degrees.   The window temperatures were recorded at 7.5-8 degrees.   It is unknown at the time of writing this report whether this is a naturally cold room or whether any heating sources catering for this room were turned off.   It was quite strange considering the other rooms were really warm in comparison.   As you walked through the door into this room, immediately to the left there are some steps leading downstairs, which led to a set of men’s toilets.   Nothing happened in the cold room.
General
Headed back to the main hall again, we then ventured off to find Emily’s room.   Again, with our backs to the armoured knight and bar area in the main hall, we proceeded towards the area where the snug was, but this time went off to the right side.   Another bar area was in this room and it led into a larger dining area, with various tables set up.   These tables had a single glass laid down on their side on each of the tables.   The layout here was the large room we have just walked into with a few steps leading down into the rest of the dining room area.   When you first come through into this room there are some stairs to the right.   These lead up to what is known to be Emily’s room, with a further room off her room.
Dining Area
We decided to stand 3 of the glasses up on the tables.   One in the correct drinking position, 2 upside down.   We then left these and went to the furthest point of the room, down the few steps into the rest of the dining area.   It is very cold here with the temperature registering 8.5-9.5 degrees.   Apparently a dark shadow has been seen in this room - I did personally experience anything to this effect.   Outside of the windows in this area appears to be, perhaps, a wooded tree area.   The weather remains very cold, wet and breezy.   At this moment of the investigation not much was being picked up, so we left this room and proceeded upstairs to Emily’s room.
Emily's Room
This room was apparently the little girl’s bedroom.   It now appears to be a storage room.   The room is extremely cold.   I personally do not like the initial feel in this room, but cannot explain why.   The temperature in the corner of the room where the door leads into the other room registers at 6-6.5 degrees.   I asked if anything was with us, whether the boxes in this room could be stacked up.   Nothing happened in this respect at this time or when returning to the room later.
General
We left Emily’s room to return to the main hall, where new medium Jackie was to start a reading.   My own personal experience? – all I will say is that what was said to me was very true, spot on.   I understand from Lisa and Lucy that what was said to them also meant a lot and could be corroborated.
Return to the Dining Area
After the reading, we resumed again with the vigil, returning to the furthest part of the dining area where we had been prior to ascending to Emily’s room.   It is the room where we left glasses turned up on the table – they remain in the same position.   The temperature has risen slightly to 10-11.5 degrees.

I think Lisa and Lucy were picking up some orbs in this area on their camcorders.   Tracey and Andy have now joined us.   Tracey asks out for contact, a sign, a noise etc – I personally did not pick up on anything at this time.

Returning now to the area that we left the upturned glasses on the tables.   The 3 we had placed in an upright position remained.   However, on the table adjacent to these 3 tables, the glass that had been lying on its side was now in an upright position.   We had not moved this particular glass and are unaware that anyone else had been in the room and touched the same since returning to the main hall for the reading.   Everyone attending this vigil was in the main hall at the time of the reading.   We returned to the dining area immediately after the reading.   We left the 3 original glasses in situ and now placed the glass we found in an upright position back on its side.   The glass on the table seen on first entering the dining room area was still on its side and remains in this position.   We then proceeded back up to Emily’s room and the adjoining room off that with Tracey and Andy.
Back to Emily's Room
The room is still cold BUT there is a ventilation fan in the window near the ceiling in this room, which would be the logical explanation as to why it is so cold.   This room was apparently closed off for 4 years.   The temperature in the room is 7 degrees.   There is a noise on my Dictaphone which has been recorded from this room.   I cannot explain what this is at this moment.

It is unclear how Emily died - in a fire or from drowning.   (More research required here).   Unfortunately, we did not get chance to see where Emily’s grave was.
where the flash was seen
Adjacent room off Emily's Room
Lucy and I went into this room whilst Lisa, Tracey and Andy remained in Emily’s room.   This room was extremely cold 4.5-5 degrees.   However, there is a ventilation fan in the window like that in Emily’s room.   Nothing was experienced in this room.
Emily's Room (again)...
Lucy and I return to Emily’s room where a group have now gathered, including Jackie.   We have formed a circle while the Jackie asks out.   Some of the group feel the room has gone colder, but I personally did not experience this myself.   A quick white flash was witnessed by quite a few group members, myself included, in the area above the main entrance.   At first we think it is the result of camera pictures being taken from within the room.   Perhaps it may have resulted from the major police incident outside.   The group rule these out at the time the flash happened.   I would like to reserve judgement here because of what was happening outside.   One of the other group members recorded the room temperature being 12-13 degrees.   From where I was stood in the room, the temperature reading was 10 degrees.
Dining Area (again)...
Lisa and I went back downstairs to the dining room area.   We noticed the glass on the middle of the 3 tables we had left glasses upturned on was missing.   Because the group we had just left had come through this area and upstairs to Emily’s room, we made enquiries as to whether anyone had touched or moved the same.   It transpires that it had been taken upstairs by one of the group members to Emily’s room.   Lucy and Lisa were picking up more orbs on their camcorders.   Lisa asked if I had been taking a temperature reading, but I had not.   She had picked up on what she thought was a reddish coloured orb.   (For anyone unfamiliar with a laser temperature thermometer I would explain that the one used on this vigil has a red beam when a temperature reading is being taken – hence the question being raised).
Snug
The room felt warmer than it had when we did the initial vigil in there earlier.   The temperature readings were between 17.5-20 degrees, the fireplace registered 18 degrees.

I asked if anything was present in the room with us, for it to make the temperature drop near the fireplace area - the temperature increased slightly to 19 degrees.

We asked for a response i.e. knocks, taps, touches etc – nothing occurred.   Possible EVP sound on the Dictaphone that did not belong to or was made by Lisa, Lucy or myself.
Chapel
Nothing much to report here apart from an odd orb or two picked up on the cameras.
"orb"
Cold Room and The Solar Rooms
This time the room did not appear quite as cold.   Temperature readings registered 9-10 degrees, so on par with earlier.   That said, the room still felt extremely cold.   (To explain how cold I personally felt it was in this room, imagine a really cold day where you can see breath exhalations… this is how cold it felt to me).   Nothing happened in here.

Moving out of this cold room into the previous room, the temperature readings registered 16-17 degrees.   Nothing happened in here.

Moving back into the first room of The Solar, we sat near the steps leading to the room we had just left.   Nothing happened.
We all left the Manor House around 06:15 a.m.
