Madeley Court Hotel with Phil Whyman
23.03.2008
Geo. Mag:   Semi-Quiet
Solar X-rays:   Unknown
Moon Phase:   Waning Gibbous 97% of Full
Vigil 1:   Gatehouse 1 (with Vince)

21:30 p.m. - 22:00 p.m.
Base readings in here are registering at 15.2-15.8 degrees centigrade.   I am sensing a male called George in this room.   One other team member confirmed the same anem.   Both myself and the other team member noting the name witness flashy lights near the bathroom door.   Checks made to rule out lighting from outside etc - all clear on this front.   Tehre is a heavy feel to this room but not menacing in any way.   People keep seeing things above the wardrobe, however I cannot confirm this myself.   Someone in the group felt the chair near the window move, but then questioned himself as to whether he may have caught his foot.   Myself and one other team member sat in the same chair but witnessed nothing.

One person senses the feeling of being watched by something or someone very tall, male presence.   I feel sick in this room.   Another team member gets the name of George, a man in his 40's who is very tall.   A few of us feel a cold draft, the window has some gaps which is probably the logical reason for this.   I also feel like I have been hit or punched in the stomach.
Vigil 2:   Gatehouse 2 (with Vince)

22:00 p.m. - 22:25 p.m.
Base readings - When you enter this area through the main door, look at the bed, to the left side temperatures are registering 17.4-5 degrees and to the right 17.7-9 degrees.   Through the door to the right little side room, readings from the entrance to this side room to the left are 19.8-9 degrees and to the right 17.3-5 degrees.

It does feel cooler in this room.   There is a smell of smoke in the room, but it is unknown whether this is a typical smell to the room.   (It should be borne in mind that due to the current Smoking Laws, this hotel is non-smoking!)

There are no EMF fluctuations.   I again feel sick in this room.

Temperature readings (described as before) are left of bed 17.3, right of bed 17.8, side room with the chairs (alcove) 18.6 to the left and 17.4 to the right.

The alcove area has quite an ominous feel to it.   I feel very sick in this area, almost to the point of wanting to be physically sick.   It also feels like there is something heavy on my chest, as does one other team member (Kev?) - experiencing the same effects.   I also have a headache in here.   There are no EMF fluctuations and nothing registering on Dictaphone in terms of recordings being identified in any way.
Vigil 3:   Abraham Darby Room (with Tim)

22:40 p.m. - 23:40 p.m.
Base readings - looking from the main door the temperature readings are to the bottom left 18.6 and to the right 18.8 degrees.   It is very quiet in this room.   No movement on the trigger object set up.   Nothing significant on the glass.   There is a glass window near the bar area above the stairs which appears to give the effect of movement (like when the wind blows across something), hwoever this is a solid object, there is nothing moveable.   Some of the group try the glass again to no avail.   Nothing registering on the Dictaphone in terms of recordings etc.
Vigil 4:   William & Mary Room (with Phil)

00:00 a.m. - 01:00 a.m.
There are 3 separate rooms in this are - panel type room, middle room and end room.

Some of the team have split up in the aforementioned rooms and some are conducting glass experiments in the end room.   However, this had to be halted temporarily due to an uneven table.   The questions and answers identified so far in this area were as follows:

Q.   Do you live here?
A.   Yes

They then tried to ascertain the first letter of the person's name which turned out to be W.   With this I get the name of Willomena (apologies for the spelling with being an unusual name - will check this out)... and this is obviously a female being.

Moving onto the panel room there is a better table to conduct the glass experiments on.   After various question and answer sessions, it transpired that there was an 8 year old girl who died in this room from a fire, which was accidental in nature.   She is here with her mother and both worked in the building.   The glass movement was extremely strong in answer to the questions.   The "being" feels drawn to Simon in our group.   We also get that Willomena is from Wellington.

Some of the questions being asked didn't even reach the end of questioning before the glass moved with great speed to the corner of the table where the majority of the "yes" answers were headed.   Simon then asked out a few questions as follows:

Q.   Do I look like your father?
A.   Yes

Q.   Did you die in this room?
A.   Yes

Q.   Do you need our help?
A.   No

Q.   Do you choose to stay here?
A.   Yes

Q.   Can you move something in the room?
A.   No response

Q.   Did you die in the 1800's?
A.   No response

Simon then sees a light go past me and another female member of the group sitting next to me.

Q.   Was that you?
A.   Yes

Q.   Did you die in the 1900's?
A.   Yes

Q.   Did you die before 1920?
A.   No response

Q.   Did you die after 1920?
A.   No response

Q.   Did the poker kill you?
A.   No

Q.   Was it the fire that killed you?
A.   Yes

Q.   Was it this fireplace?
A.   No response

Q.   Was it a house fire?
A.   No

Q.   Does Edward mean anything to you?
A.   No

Apparently Wellington was an old part of this area, Telford didn't exist.

Q.   Are you happy to communicate with us?
A.   Yes

Q.   Are you on your own?
A.   No

Q.   How many spirits are in the room (this was calculated by counting from 1-10 and the glass moving when reaching the amount)?
A.   3

Q.   Did you die with 3 other people?
A.   No

Q.   Are the other people in the room with our friends?
A.   Yes

Q.   Are they friendly spirits?
A.   Yes

Q.   Did this building used to be a nursery?
A.   No

Q.   Did you have a Nanny?
A.   No

Q.   Did you learn here (school)?
A.   No

Q.   Did you work here?
A.   Yes

Q.   Did you work in this room?
A.   Yes

Q.   Were you a servant?
A.   Yes

Q.   Did your mother work here?
A.   Yes

Q.   Did your father work here?
A.   No

Q.   So it was just your mother and you?
A.   Yes

That was the end of the Q&A session.   There was nothing recorded on the Dictaphone, only the above Q&A session.   No EMF fluctations.
Vigil 5 - The Priory & Priors' Sanctuary - (with Sara)

01:25 a.m. - 02:30 a.m.
The group split into 2 parts, one in the Priory and one in the Sanctuary.   Our part were in the Sanctuary.   There was a very uneasy feeling in the Sanctuary just from walking through into this area.   Quite a few of us have the same feeling.   I am getting a headache in the centre of the forehead again in here.   There is a horrible smell in the room which cannot be likened to anything specific.   I get the feeling of being in the room but not as it actually is in the present day - quite a strange feel.   It is almost like the room has changed, like something has gone across me and the room dimensions have altered.

We attempt glass divination, there is a slight vibration but not too much happening.   One or two of us, myself included, experience stomach pains in this area.   The headache is getting progressively worse - on coming out of the area it appears to go/be lifted.   Jenny experiences something touching the top of her head very lightly.   She checked for spiders etc but couldn't identify anything that would cause the same to happen.

Nothing registering on the Dictaphone or EMF.   The room generally feels flat.
Vigil 6 - The Gables (with Vince)

02:35 a.m. - 03:42 a.m.
This room is located on the second floor of the hotel.   It is extremely small with a low ceiling.

Nothing to report in here.   No EMF fluctuations and nothing on Dictaphone.   A draft was felt at one point, no-one was moving around the room due to its lack of space.   There were no obvious gaps or drafts coming from the window.
