Initial Walk Round
Rose wallpapered room – felt sick in here as did the Medium, Denise. Outside of the room is the staircase, no-one else is with us at this time, as they are having a brief history tour with the staff of the Castle. I asked Denise whether she had heard anything, she asked what I had heard. It was a very clear “can you hear me”, almost whisper like, quite strange.
I kept being drawn to the wooden panelled room – this is located from the bottom of the steps across from the Sculpture Room and next to the Courting type room. It felt like there was a female sitting in the chair visible from the door although no-one was) wearing a long light coloured flowing dress.
Vigil 1 - Cellars (first area, far cellar)
00:20-01:00 a.m.
I picked up on the name of Joseph in here.
Temperature readings register between 14.4-14.7ºC.
A few people mention sight of a person in the “doorway” to the cellar. I don’t personally experience this. I do have a headache in this area, right in the centre of the forehead. There is a sound on the Dictaphone which I cannot even begin to describe - almost like a synthesised sound?? Rob is sensing pain and torture in this area. Temperature readings now register between 15.5-15.6ºC. However, I should point out that this particular part of the cellar is a small area and there are presently about 7 of us present, including a fridge/freezer. The Dictaphone picks up an almost drawn out breath type of sound, but none of us have made this, it was almost like someone was blowing into something. Someone is picking up on a male wearing a bloodstained apron. Rob doesn’t feel that this person being picked up on is a surgeon.
Cellar 2 area
This is located when you first come down to the cellar area. Temperature readings are 16.4ºC.
Rob is getting the year 1654 and says this is “his words” i.e. meaning the presence he is picking up on. An “orb” is recorded on camcorder coming from the previous cellar area passageway to where we currently are. The temperature is 16.5ºC. Rob is sensing there are a lot of other individuals also giving out the pain and goes onto say it was his job and he enjoyed doing it.
The temperature is now registering between 16.1-16.3ºC. Quite a few people notice the drop in temperature. Rob senses this individual is well educated. Some of the group, myself included, hear a “humming” type of sound. Rob feels this individual comes from the area. A couple of people in the group are feeling like their left eye has been blocked by something. Quite a few of us also hear what can only be described as “hmmm”. The temperature is 16.4-16.6ºC.
Vigil 2 - Billiards Room
01:00-01:40 a.m.
Temperature readings are 18.2-17.5ºC
I didn’t personally experience anything in here. Rob picks up on a female presence, the year being given is 1512 and the name is Elizabeth.
Vigil 3 – Upstairs, Children’s Room/Play Area
02:05-02:39 a.m.
Temperature readings are between 15.5-16ºC
This is the room where there are children’s clothes displayed on hangers.
The group undertook mirror scrying in here with successful results. Both Tom and Lee experienced facial changes, likened to that of a Jewish/Armish man, bearded face (goaty) – I should point out that both Tom and Lee are clean shaven. At this point of the vigil there was an undistinguishable sound picked up on the Dictaphone. When it was my turn to do the scrying my face doesn’t appear to reflect one person. The group report there is a child like face, young, blonde hair; then an old woman with dark sunken eyes, then a female with her hair tied back (mine was untied). I too am seeing these changes during the experiment which are quite bizarre to see.
The only other thing to report in here was that Tom and Lee were both getting movement on the planchette, but nothing which made any sense in terms of the writing aspect.
Vigil 4 - Lowther Room
02:40-02:55 a.m.
When coming through the door to the left the temperature reading is 17.3-17.6ºC, to the right it is 15.4-15.5ºC. I didn’t personally feel anything in this room. Most of the group decided to form a circle with Rob asking out. Temperature readings from the centre of the circle, avoiding anyone’s body heat which would result in major temperature changes, the readings fluctuate between 18.3-4ºC, 18.7ºC, 18.4ºC, 18.8ºC, 19ºC and 18.6ºC.
Vigil 5 - Rose Wallpapered Room
Approximately 03:00-03-15 a.m.
Temperature reading is 19.1ºC.
Rob is picking up on a small girl, aged around 12, in this room and a male who does not appear to be dressed very well. He is also sensing a crashing of doors with this male i.e. banging/slamming. Also being picked up on is an older lady with dark hair, slender build. Rob then goes onto say that he feels that there is a hole in the wall behind the bed, perhaps the result of an explosion and the entombment of 2 bodies. I am feeling sick in this room again, as per the walk around earlier. Rob feels that illness would be sensed everywhere in the Castle. He also provides a name of Tom Jones.
Vigil 6 - Main Entrance
03:47-04:45 a.m.
Temperature readings as coming into this area to the left are 12.6-13.2ºC, to the right 13.1-14.1ºC. I pick up on the name of Michael in this area.

Vigil 7 - Sculpture Room
05:05-05:45 a.m.
I sense the name of Douglas in here and the age 81 when he apparently died.
Some of the group are on the planchette where this is movement occurring.
Temperature readings – on entering through the main door as follows:
To the left and right = 15.8ºC
The bottom left and right corners = 15.6ºC
The people on the planchette are asking for it to be moved and to either write something or to try and draw something. This resulted in what appeared to be the beginning of a bird and it’s beak. They then proceed to ask questions as follows:

Information provided by Bodelwydden staff after the event
During the first World War there were lots of Australian soldiers staying here and there was a flu epidemic, a lot of them died and are buried in the Bodelwydden churchyard just down the road from where the Castle is. Going back to the initial walk around and my sense of a female in the panelled room – the layout for this area is what they call the Courting Room (opposite the Sculpture Room), then the panelled room, then a red coloured room at the end. In the latter room there is a picture of a female which I subsequently saw after my own personal feeling of a female in a dress that I would feel appropriate to this incident. I do not know who the female in the picture is as I did not have the time to investigate this further.
Information provided at the end of the night by the staff prior to leaving this venue, was that in the “Courting Room” as you walk in to the left there is a large painting roughly central to the room, where apparently some bones of a tall man were located.
Also provided by the staff at the end of the investigation was the fact that the rose wallpapered room and the hole picked up on. Apparently some bones had been located here, they don’t know who they belong to, don’t know whether they are male or female, but they had been put in there for whatever reason – unbeknown to them. Also, if you look from the outside of the Castle there is a statue to where that hole would have been.
